What to Expect on Exam Day
Beyond the packing list — here's the actual flow of exam day:
- • Arrive early. Testing centers typically close their doors at a set time and do not admit latecomers, no exceptions. Give yourself extra buffer for traffic or getting lost finding the venue.
- • Bring your venue assignment and valid ID — proctors check both against their roster before letting you in.
- • Bring a black ballpen just in case, and dress modestly and comfortably — exact requirements can vary by venue, so check your venue instructions if provided.
- • Seating is assigned. You won't get to choose where you sit.
- • No electronic devices — phones, smartwatches, and calculators are generally not allowed in the testing room.
- • The exam runs on a strict, fixed schedule. There's a real-time cutoff, and proctors will collect your answer sheet whether you're finished or not.
- • Stay until dismissed. Leaving early can sometimes be restricted during certain portions of the exam — follow the proctor's instructions.
